This is pretty good. I've never heard the original, but they're thought provoking lyrics. Although your guitar solo was good, I think you're a little flat in the voice.
I think you need to try and make longer notes and follow a steady melody. Some more practice in your notes will make this even better. Good luck and keep it up!
