About "Plantation Angola"

One of America's largest prisons is Louisiana's Angola State Penitentiary. The land was purchased from the profits of a slave trading firm and was originally used for four slave plantations. Some things never change. In 1952, 31 inmates cut their achilles tendons to protest the hard work and brutality there. The movie "Monster's Ball" was filmed there.
