Ayah in Focus: “…do not kill yourselves, indeed God is merciful with you .” [4:29]

Summary: If each of us knew when we would die, we would do all that we could to prevent it. If each of us knew how we would die, we would avoid that cause. Many times we do things that weaken our health and cause detriment to not only ourselves but to others as well. As beleivers, we should be acutely aware of those things that are permitted for us, and those things that are not. We should also be aware of things that although we think are non-consequential, actually affect our faith, health, and familes negatively. How many of us smoke? After this khutbah, let’s see if we will want to continue.
