Christmas in London (Osckilo)
Keith Landry
Tharek sent me this beautifully played guitar arrangement and told me to have at it with the spirit of Christmas, so I wrote and recorded this little message of hope and peace. Somehow when I write music with and for fellow musicians across the pond, it all comes back to the ocean for me (see “Dreams of the Ocean” with Sister Savage)… There will likely be a future cleaner vocal version, but I like the song so much that I just needed to post it now. Thank you again, Tharek, for including me in this perfectly delicate song.
CHRISTMAS IN LONDON
Winter rolls in from the ocean
Quiet comes over the land
Candles burn a reminder of how to care for our fellow man
Night falling in London
The shortest day of the year
Candles burn a reminder
Silent night drawing near
I pray it snows this Christmas
A blanket of white on the land
Pure as the light of the child
Forgiving the sins of man
Winter rolls in from the ocean
Quiet comes over the land
Candles burn a reminder
Of how we should care for our fellow man
Putting vocals to Thareks music is such a joy, and you've done a fabulous job here !! This is just superb !!
Don't know how I missed faving this one?!?!? I still love this track...just watched the video again the other day, amazing collab indeed.
Glad you liked the track Keith. I finished it at right about 19 and 1/2 hours of solid recording. Coffee breaks in between. The mixing was not done very well but that landed on the 19th hour, and i was just about ready to pass out. Really i just wrote out a set of changes and 7 or 8 riffs and tried to pull them together to complete the song. I wanted it to feel like a song, not 24 minutes of the same stuff over and over.
Great holiday song by 2 great collaborated musicians. puts me it has a charming mood!
Ah, that's really pretty Keith. Nice sentiments!
Wow, I am so jealous! This is beautiful - great performances by both of you!
