A Long Walk Home Alone
Mike Denison (Lumberfork)
Stumble across
A crack in the sidewalk
Jolted back to the dry city air
I thought I was ready
I hear myself crying
Just get home before anyone stares
Can’t feel a thing except fingernails piercing skin
Cover the wounds
Try to fit in
Step after step will get me home
Alone
Machinery churns
Cars drive by slowly
Suddenly aware of a lingered hello
Turn into the alley
Eyes blurred on the pavement
Each step helps me let go
Can’t feel a thing except fingernails piercing skin
Cover the wounds
Try to fit in
Step after step will get me home
Alone

This took forever to record, mostly because sad. The goal was a Daniel Lanois style drone to suit the mood. It took a few days to get my head on straight, so here it is.
This is the only thing I have written so far that modulates keys to swing the mood around. Did it work?
