Dancing Together (Draft/Scratch)
So, the story is: A guy that works at the train stop by my place wanted to put a song together. He had a general idea of what he wanted (a dance track) and he had a few lines of lyrics... (more)

Relay & Reply
A single take - my first time ever bowing an electric bass... or playing any bowed instrument for that matter. I played it with a bit of echo on there, just for fun.

Consider Your Options
A blast from the past! This is a soundtracky bit of improv recorded during my time in Denver circa 1999, by placing an SM57 on my lap and playing the KORG (the speakers are on the bottom of it). FUN TIMES!

Deep Dark Sea
A total throwaway song that I wrote years ago, but is consistently a favorite of people who know my music. Go figure!
It's about drowning, as so many of my songs are.

Paper Cranes
This was meant to have lyrics, but I got too sick to do them. Now I'm wondering if it's just a nice instrumental piece that doesn't need lyrics. We'll see.

Cornerturner
I'm not sure what this one is about. Two people who like each other but didn't really let the other one know, I guess.

Machine Man
Started with a DIY music box and went on from there. Don't bother trying to understand the lyrics, unless you're a robot from the future.

Dive Down
For the RPM 2009 Whale Challenge! I could probably mix it a little better, but I don't want to think about it very hard.

Band Of Rain
One of the FIRST songs I wrote for the album, GMOVJ, and sort of a fan favorite. It's definitely different for me... so I don't know what that means that everyone likes it so much!

Your Finest Out
One of the last songs I wrote for the album, and one of my favorites. I think this is a sad song about relationship misunderstanding... but I didn't really know before earlier today. It's definitely fictional, though ;)

Overnight Coach
Part of 2007's Winter EP, this one is meant to evoke what it's like to take a horse-drawn carriage ride through an urban environment. Also, if Dr. Dre were to play a penny whistle, I imagine he would do it like this.
