I composed and originally recorded this Easter Song in 2000 as a demo for
a 5th grade chorus “The Sylvan Sounds,” at Sylvan Christian School in Grand
Rapids, Michigan; conducted by Ms. Jan Postma. It was to be sung along with
Orff instruments (xylophone-like percussion) and piano accompaniment. Sadly,
no recording of their performance was made. This is a re-mix with the lyrics
overdubbed. The original demo was recorded using only my “martian” choir for
the melody. Actually, the “martians” sound a bit more like the kids did than do
my overdubbed vocals.
I will also post a somewhat heavy-metal-style instrumental version, if you can imagine that. Here are the lyrics:

Christ is Risen! He rose from His grave!
Now he lives in our hearts and He’s with us today!
No more sad discontentment, hard finding our way.
‘Cause He lives in our hearts and He’s with us today!

Christ is risen! Alleluia!

Christ has risen! He rose from His grave!
Now He lives in our hearts and He’s with us always!
So, when life’s full of trouble and all seems confused,
Rejoice with His Spirit and help spread the news.

Christ is risen! Alleluia!

Christ is risen! He rose from His grave!
Now He lives in our hearts and He’s with us today!
Now He lives in our hearts and He’s with us always!

Saved!
