The text on this track comes off a B-side from one of Putnam Aldrich’s (my great-grandfather) records. He was a harpsichordist, a professor at Stanford, a chain smoker, and apparently had a sense of humor when it came to “modern music.”

KICK SNARE AND HI HAT are from my limited one-shot sample collection on this computer. The rest of these sounds are samples of mosquitoes. They basically fly around my short shotgun mic while I try to record saki monkey vocalizations. I figured that I would put these sounds to use, because I…read more

When CobSOn was 6 years old, mom and dad Cobson sent her to the local music school (in the suburbs of Toulouse) where she started to play the piano. The course lasted 11 years.

He can’t play nicely or share his toys
He always takes from the other boys
Got no time for music or vids

Believe his words if you must
But only in god do we trust

This song was written after I had watched a documentary about Jonestown, which featured music from their choir. They were very talented and I couldn’t help wondering if any of them had survived. I’d like to think that there were a couple of ‘em that grabbed their guitars and said, “Let’s get…read more
