A friend asked me,
“Don’t you have any happy songs?”
So I wrote one!

IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY

If it makes you happy I will tie your shoe

If it makes you happy I will wiggle my ears
If it makes you happy I will hide my tears

There will be days when the rains will fall
We’ll go out and wash the car
Jump in the puddles and dance in the grass
Try to answer the questions our Mama will ask
(What are you kids doing out there?)

Put a dozen bunnies in your gunny sack

Un til you get your balance and learn to ride

There’ll be days when the sun will shine

We’ll jump in the puddles, dance in the grass
Answer all the questions our mama will ask
