The Pads of Paddington

The Pads of Paddington is a set of 2 pieces (this being the first one). I took inspiration from train sounds/noises although the “pads” of Paddington should technically be called the “drones” of Paddington - however, I am sure you understand the appeal of the chosen name :)

Although no actual train sounds are used on this piece, I have tried to make creative musical use of various sources of noise throughout.

This piece combines drones, orchestral and synth sounds to create a powerful atmosphere which is at times calm and at times unsettling. I intentionally used no drums, except at one point instance, to test if I would be able to convey a powerful emotional charge and enough energy to the piece without the use of drums or percussion.
