I was wondering
About the crops
If we skipped the harvest
In the fall
Let the cornfield
Die and brought
Sell the farm
And cast our lot
Would be be OK

I hope that it won’t be a while
Till I get to see the smile
The Dawn shines on the hills
I would never leave if it weren’t for the thrill

I’ve been judging
So awfully much
I’ve been struggling
To keep in touch
With my mom and dad
These past few months
The prayers are drowned out
By the thrush
Since I’ve been away

I can’t ask you
If you might come
With me tomorrow
When my life begun
To just get going
There’s a race to run
I might be back
After the plantings done
If not, I’ll send for you

Saved!
