July 29- the daily two

Benstopfel

I am fed my daily bread
and I get you
my daily two
it’s been said you have to lose
So I put my foot in the other shoe

It’s harder than it looks to be prolific
It takes about half a book
of songs I’ve written
To make my brain split half
my Grey matter the Paige with a splat

I’ve run out the clock the last six days in ten thinking of some rhymes
that could make any sense
if I come up short, take me out back
I’m not a poet I’m a hack

I’m grateful for the chance to lose my marbles
It’s been quite the dance and I feel awful. Wouldn’t trade it for the world
number 31 my Time is served
