Dream Parade
Metamere
I made this for the “Cooking with Deluge” challenge for July 2025, and also for my Hyperphantasia album project. It was partly inspired by the music and parade scene from the 2006 anime Paprika. I started by sampling some pots, lids, bowls, and various utensils and devices from the kitchen. I recorded using a PZW or compressor mic through my mixer into Audacity, then processed and transferred them to the Deluge to create five kits, and built up sequences or beats for each. I also made a multi-timbral instrument with a wavetable and a sample of hitting a large pot lid with a rubber mallet. I also created a multisample preset of the longer pad sounds by recording directly into the Deluge from my Alesis QS7 synth. Once I had some sequences for each kit and synth I put them together into the arranger and then fleshed them out a bit, such as using the Dreadbox Typhon for one bass section. I used the QS7 as a midi controller for the sequencing and performance controls using its sliders, mod-wheel, and expression pedal.
