Some Kind of Spring

I recorded some backyard sounds of the melting snow flowing into the gutters, with some chickadees in the background. I layered those two field recordings and faded between them. Synths were from the Deluge’s DX7 synth engine. I made an arrangement and did some live manipulation. I used the good old 808 kit for the first half, then a bunch of beatbox sounds I recorded and then made into a beat for the last half. I kind of rushed the final session on the 1st to meet the REM and Deluge challenge deadlines. I had spent a good while earlier in the month working on the beats, but I had to quickly improvise some melodies and basslines and put together an arrangement in a few hours. I think it turned out okay, if a bit odd.
