A recording by our Muskegon-area neighborhood bluegrass group.
Despite its upbeat association and recent use in pharmaceutical TV advertising,
this is a rather sad song; but, like most others do, we perform it in an upbeat style.
Written in 1939 by Jimmie Davis and Charles Mitchell. Davis went on to be
governor of Louisiana from 1944 to 1948 and again from 1960 to 1964, and
used the song for his election campaign.
