They dance to the band in a fancy taverna
Swaying along to the latino beat
A lithe don Juan tries to teach them flamenco
And the laughter spills onto the street
I walk down avenues that end in plazas
And onto streets where the kids have no shoes
Past walls with slogans of long-lost causes
And somewhere a horn is blowing the blues
Crumbling facades on broad boulevards
A fifty-three chevy looking the part
Like a worn out diva dressed to the nines
Still on stage but forgetting her lines
In Havana, In Havana, In Havana
Viva la revolution, cigars and rum
Che in his beret a hero to some
A face on a souvenir is what he’s become
Viva la revolution now the tourists have come
Crumbling facades on broad boulevards
A fifty-three chevy looking the part
Like a worn out diva dressed to the nines
Still on stage but forgetting her lines
In Havana, In Havana, In Havana
Forgetting her lines
In Havana, in Havana, in Havana
Forgetting her lines
Crumbling facades on broad boulevards
A fifty-three chevy looking the part
Like a worn out diva dressed to the nines
Still on stage but forgetting her lines
In Havana, In Havana, In Havana
Forgetting her lines
In Havana, in Havana, in Havana
Forgetting her lines
Forgetting her lines
