Leadfoot Skyladder
AMUC
Collaboration that I did with Beatwavecr. He composed the music, and I had done the vocals/lyrics. (September 2018 – I fine-tuned the vocals and levels just slightly, but am trying to resist any further bouts of OCD.)
Lyrics :
[verse 1] :
I never could remain on the high road
So could you scrape Me from this grate?
Tried to fly with the angels
but I arrived too damn late
and she knows her doom’s impending
pinned down by all this (freakin) weight
and if this God He were relenting
would He save her from this fate
[chorus]
lift.. me.. up..
unto.. the.. sky..
i’ll.. give.. my.. wings..
another.. try.
and should i fail
so here I lie
as I look up
i’ll still see the sky
and if I fly short
I can’t deny
I was just never
destined
to be this high
[verse 2] :
I know I cannot take the high road
Always been the fool who preys
I’ve played too many angles
(a treading hamster in a cage)
though she knows she’s been descending
she sees the error of her ways
and if this God He were relenting
He’d revive her from the endless daze (days)
[chorus]
lift.. me.. up..
unto.. the.. sky..
i’ll.. give.. my.. wings..
another.. try.
and should i fail
so here I lie
as I look up
i’ll still see the sky
and if I fly short
I can’t deny
I was just never
destined
to be this high
[during chorus ext and outro]
weighed
down
weathered
ground
lost
and found
without a sound
I
can’t
touch
the clouds
before
me
[repeated]
[Outro Outro?]
and she knows her doom’s impending
not in flame but just a wave
a beginning, crash, and an ending
And noone there to make the save
and this ship is gone forever
wisp of light amongst the banks
I will swim for something better
so I can cross out (all) My mistakes
