Audio taken during the vote to bind delegates to Santorum based off of the February Primary that a mere 2,500, or less, voted in due to it being seemingly inconsequential to the nomination. There are, roughly, 45,000 residents in Camden county, of which 80% are of legal voting age. It is unclear how many registered voters there are in Camden county, specifically Republican, however I find it rather hard to believe that the 1600 votes cast for Santorum during February’s mock primary would hardly qualify as a legitimate “overwhelming” majority, morally obligating all county delegates to vote for Santorum.
Camden county was one of the only counties that opted to bind their delegates to a specific candidate.
