I started with some bells created with Tweakbench Carillion, then slowed them down, and made about 40,000 (!) copies, which I stretched, compressed, & time shifted, then and mixed down, over laying them until they started to sound like organ chords, and then began to phase against each other. Some of the tracks overloaded Audacity when I was mixing them together, creating the static heard towards the beginning of the piece.
