Pain is inspired by my bout with severe nerve damage in my lower back. As anyone who has ever had a good hurt can tell you, it gives you an internal feeling of chaos that often comes and goes in waves and spikes. The music follows this pattern as well, with a “chorus” section where the narrator is too overwhelmed to say anything.

Cool slow theme, I can hear you spitting the lyrics through clenched teeth... the chaos-chorus does what you wanted, turns up the adrenaline... final spoken part is chilling. Hate to imagine what this has done to your life and blacksmith practice, ugh! Good musical therapy!
