Over the past six months, in addition to almost dying after Open Heart Surgery, I found out what darkness lies in the hearts of medical professionals when they know patients they treat are indigent. We have all seen the videos on YouTube of people discharged by hospitals and left to die. In my case, God had other plans. I survived. When I was discharged, the hospital paid a cabbie to drop me off at a vacant lot in downtown Ft Lauderdale. But, man proposes, God disposes. The cabbie knew what was happening, so he gave me $5 out of his own pocket which was the only money I had in the world. From there, a Salvation Army gave me a place to sleep and paid for bus fare to send me to live with my son. So, here I am now, slowly putting my life back together again, living in an apartment on Hayden Road across the street from the Florida State University football stadium. This is the first tune I wrote here on Hayden Road.
