After all is said and done, what do I have to show for it?
Always projects to be done, will I ever get rid of them?
Empty buckets in the hall to catch the rain when it comes in
Vintage sofa torn to shreds, the cat’s been having fun again

The days seem long
Yet it leaves too soon
I dread the time
When I won’t have you

Counted all the extra change left inside the mason jar
Just enough to fill the tank and grab a drink inside the bar
Can’t find a single familiar face, none of them are burnt out yet
Jukebox blasting Dreams again, God I need a cigarette

The nights seem short
But they last too long
I fear the day
When I can’t sing along
