6. Penn Station Installation- Digital Track

Our Sound 1 teacher, Eric Spangler, organized a coup of Baltimore’s Penn Station via sound. We recorded from the enviroment and then took those samples back into the studio and reworked them. We then took the finished tracks and secretly, from laptops or hidden speakers in luggage, began playing them louder and louder over the course of about 2 hours. The point was to recycle and confuse the soundscape of place of travel, passingby, quickly rushing from one place to another. I think we were successful in confusing listeners out of their daily grind.

This is also the first time I tried scratching via record.
