A song I wrote based on (drum roll)… Psalm 46!

God is our refuge and strength
an ever-present help in our troubles
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea
And the waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God
the holy place where the Most High dwells
With God for her, she won’t fall
She will stand at break of day
Kingdoms will rise and kingdoms will fall
But He lifts his voice forevermore

The Lord Almighty is with us
the God of Jacob is our fortress

Come and see the works of the Lord,
the stillness he has brought to the earth.
He makes wars cease the land
And He breaks the bow and He shatters the spear
and sets fire to the shield
Be still, and know that he is the Lord
It is He the nations will exalt
