Shine

Shine
Would I know You if I saw Your face?
Would You stand out in a crowd?
Would You look like the pictures on the wall
Hanging in Your Father’s house?
I feel that I must come to know You
You were always there
But I would not see You
You waited sadly, but with patience
I was blind, but now I see
Early morning, close my eyes
The snow is falling all around
A Kinkade winter scene of days gone by
Amidst this picture of light I can be found
A lantern glows, the snow’s a blanket
Alone I stand before sunrise
My eyes behold a rustic cottage
The door opens, He steps outside
I’ve been waiting for you, come inside
Spend some time with Me, My friend
I have so much in store for you, oh, this day
Come sit with Me just for a while
I hurry to the door, a smile on my face
We go inside, He brings me tea
He listen’s while I tell Him all that’s inside;
The good, the bad, the in-between.
He kindly takes all I can’t handle
And lifts the burden from my soul.
We sit in silence, I feel peaceful
And with the grace He gives, I go
Let My light shine through you, so they can know Me
Let you works ring true before men
I have so much in store for each and everyone
Shine the light so they might see
So I resolve to look for You in all I see
In friends and family and strangers
When light meets light, the unbelievers will believe
Like the shepherds drawn to the manger
I’ve been waiting for you, come inside
Spend some time with Me, My friend
I have so much in store for you, oh, this day
Come sit with Me just for a while
Let My light shine through you, so they can know Me
Let you works ring true before men
I have so much in store for each and everyone
Shine the light so they might see
Shine the light
