With this song, I wanted to make a light piano song with a prominent beat to it. The result reminds me a bit like an Alicia Keys or Justin Timberlake ballad. It's mostly out of my range vocally but the idea is there.

Despite common belief, I think a good pop song is hard to write. I set out to write a simple pop song with this one. I don't think I really succeeded in making what I'd consider to be a good pop song but I think it's a start. It's simple and catchy.

This song is about the mutuality of a relationship from the happier days to when both silently agree it's ending. "We both want the same thing" applies to both ends of the relationship spectrum and sometimes the signs are clearly there.
