As The World Turns
Intro:
The wisdom of men has led us astray,
Come, redeem us, Lord—show us the way.
Shine Your truth on our hearts, don’t let us stray,
Teach us to trust You and humbly obey.
Verse 1:
As the world turns, should we act like we don’t care?
We build our towers high, yet our souls remain so small,
We chase the fleeting wind, lost in burdens we can’t bear,
Yet love still calls us home, though we heed it not at all.
Verse 2:
As men’s pride burns, drowning deep in our despair,
Chasing after shadows, thinking we can have it all.
Yet the truth remains, though we turn away in fear,
Only light can break the chains, only grace can break the fall.
Chorus:
Oh Lord, we need Your mercy, we need Your light,
We’ve walked alone too long, lost in the night.
We lay down our pride—come redeem us, O Most High.
We need Your mercy, we need Your light,
We’ve walked alone too long, lost in the night.
We lay down our pride—come redeem us, O Most High.
Spoken Word:
We’ve silenced Your voice, said we know what’s best,
But every step we take just leads to more unrest.
We claim we’ve conquered, yet we barely understand,
The weight of this world slipping through our hands.
Bridge:
We built without You, now everything falls,
The strong have grown weaker behind their walls.
We thought we could master the stars and the seas,
Yet we’re lost in the dark, brought down to our knees. Chorus
