The Old Man from the Ranch (Part One)

Chorus:
He said, “Son, hold your horses, lend me your ears. I’ve been through life and seen its many faces.
There are times you just have to let it go and let the Lord guide your heart through this journey.

He went on saying, “Son, take a look at my beard. I can see the pain in your eyes, and I know this: you’re now a man, and a man does what he must. But let the Lord guide your heart through this journey.”

Verse 1:
Now I’m old and ready for revenge,
My heart filled with nothing but vengeance, always heavy.
Riding through many towns, both night and day, I couldn’t wait to reach my destination.
When I arrived at this ranch and begged for water, an old fellow grabbed my horse and shook his head. Chorus

Verse 2:
I rode off, still filled with rage. He didn’t know about me, nor did he understand my pain.
But his words kept resounding in my ears as I rode through the valley, close to my goal.

I could hear another horse riding right behind me.
When I turned, it was the old man on his horse, calling my name and telling me that it wasn’t worth it.
I ignored him and rode off into the sunset. Chorus
