He wore my face, but his eyes were dead
Like his book of sins that I swore I’d never read,
He smiled with his pale lips that hid my shame,
And whispered truths I knew, would divert the blame.

Chorus (1):
The devil’s in the mirror, but his hands are clean,
Holding up the corners of the lies in between.
His shadow pulls me down, where my doubts still hide,
The devil’s in the mirror on the other side.

Verse 2:
He leaned in close, just a breath away,
And told me of debts I believed I’d already paid.
He said “The scars you wear, are just a mask,
But I see the questions, that you’re too scared to ask”.

The devil’s in the mirror, where the cracks run deep,
Each line tells a secret, I swore I’d always keep.
The glass won’t shatter, but I see it move,
The devil’s in the mirror, a truth that I cannot prove.

I reached to touch him, and caught his eyes,
He was hit with the burden of the weight of my lies
I moved in closer, but the glass held true,
Shrouded in silence, reflecting something new.
