Keep The Heat Low
Demo #4 for the 50/90 Song Writing Challenge.
I’m not sure if this is trash. One listen I think there is something there, and then another listen I can’t believe I took the idea this far. I like most of the parts, but I’m not sure they should all be in the same song.
I was still in the same headspace from writing my previous track, but wanted to go for something with a more serious tone… I just don’t know.
[VERSE]
She’s hiding scars In places
She won’t let me see
Her past is complicated
The details she conceals
She wants to move on
But afraid what that might mean
Not sure she can trust again
But wants to try, and I said
[CHORUS]
If you want to have a go
I can take it slow
If you’re afraid of getting burned
we can keep the heat low
[VERSE]
Not after my sympathy
But a confidant
Not looking for a fix
Just acknowledgement
The support she needs
To find a way to mend
Empathize her triggers
Comfort if she needs it, I said
[CHORUS]
If you want to have a go
I can take it slow
If you’re afraid of getting burned
we can keep the heat low
[SOLO]
[CHORUS]
If you want to have a go
I can take it slow
If you’re afraid of getting burned
we can keep the heat low
[CHORUS]
If you want to have a go
I can take it slow
If you’re afraid of getting burned
we can keep the heat low
