Or All The Seas With Oysters*
Permanent Tourist
This is the closest I’d get to psychedelic rock, I don’t even know what to call this kind of song, to be honest.
Technically this is a redo of an old demo song of mine, but of course things grew in the retelling.
The rock section of the song kicks in at about 3 and a half minutes.
As always, thanks for listening.
LYRICS:
(Ask yourself this, having come this far: what are you going to do with the rest of your life?)
Do I dare to eat a peach
or all the seas with oysters
Let the tapeworms bore their holes
or wallow in the moisture
Some things are exactly what they seem
We all live perchance to dream
Alphabets come with the tides
the words they spell out hurt
Sound advice
Soothing lies
Poems scrawled in dirt
Trifles whispered in the sand
erode and disappear
You can’t believe your eyes
I can’t believe my ears
Do I dare
grow out my hair not by choice
We’re impaired
It’s the sound of my voice
Do I dare evolve again
Leave behind the world of men
Spit in the faces of whatever gods there are
(You want to know the future? All you have to do is hold on.)
Rain is rising heaven bound
Doorways still remain unfound
Prophecies that turn out to be bull
shit
Broken clock right twice a day
Pendulum that swing one way
Hourglass is always half full
(You’re running out of time.)
