Swore my love to you
Lost in the love in your eyes
Just waiting to say I do

On a mid-summers day
I pledged my love and faith
what more could I say
to my bride with God’s grace

I promised to love and to hold

A son, the gift for all time
yet my secret too much to bear
Nature had me out of time

Love was not enough
To be what I could not
Nature took from me
