Written for the FAWM 2018 challenge. Just thinking of ‘My Songs’ and how they are, what they are, I’m not Lennon/McCartney or either one for that matter, but I enjoy writing just the same. I just want to get better. No. 9, No. 9 No. 9……
This is what they used to call filler on album.
Lyrics
My Songs can be simple and trite
Yet I still try to get ’em right
Some have three or even four chords
simple melodies seldom need more
Most come from my heart
It’s often the place I start
The issue is not what to say
But how I’m going to play
Chorus
Sometimes their sad and true
Sometimes it’s Rhythm and blues
Sometimes I want to make em dance
Other times It words of Romance
My songs are how I stay sane
I don’t think of it as a game
Its nice to know people will listen
perhaps even when they go fishing.
