Like a brushstroke made of gold,
And he follows just behind her

As the city hums its tune,
And the sun leans down to listen
To a boy who dreams too soon.

He stares as if she’s sunrise—
Something gentle, something bright—
A world he wants to wander,
But stays quiet out of fright.

Every step she takes is music,
Every turn a spark of flame,
And he walks in soft devotion
Never speaking out her name.

Maybe someday she will hear him
In the rustle of the air,
In the echo of his footsteps,
In the warmth behind his stare.

Until then he keeps his distance,
Letting hope and wonder swirl—
