Cape Cod Girls (new version)

Robert Palomo

I was just experimenting with a new arrangement for my cheap condenser mics to try to get better acoustic instrument sound. I think I got on to something I like better. Anyway, fooling around with it, and with this traditional sea shanty (and a bottle of wine) I made it into less of a work song and more of a deck-dance. It’s pretty sparse and primitive: only a banjo, abanjo pot banged like a bodhràn, a set of old brass keys, and me vocal cords, such as they be at this season of the year and general time o’ life.

Beautiful !!! Whatever you are doing, it sounds fantastic. Listening to your lyrics . . . . I think I’d like to meet these Cape Cod Girls.
