Another elaboration of a groove by Chris Avery, this time with him on guitar, bass, and drums. He called it TBC, which got me thinking about the feeling of being a bit of unfinished work, a work in progress, of being, frankly, a bit of a disappointment in comparison to what one could and should become. And for someone who grew up a Roman Catholic, epitomized by that pang of guilt at the part of the mass acknowledging “things done and and left undone”… …and then a musical catharsis and release, as there’s no point in wallowing in it.
