This was for both the Deluge monthly challenge, for which I had to come up with the topic, and the Record Every Month challenge, for March 2025. I only spent a couple days on it at the end, but I think it turned out well. I used the Deluge for the drone and percussion sounds, and for the sequencing of the Minilogue xd for the string sounds and the Typhon for the brassy synth sound in the middle section. Then I played my tenor recorder in the last third with a bit of reverb added in post. I used the lydian mode, which was new for me. I liked the different chord progressions it led to. I tried to tell a story of a fantastic setting, and about my drive to remember my dreams. It has been working, and though not every dream has been pleasant, it is worth it.

Edit 1-10-2026:
I made a remastered version where I applied more reverb, adjusted levels and envelopes, and did some detailed editing in the tenor recorder section to remove a note or two and fix a couple of note timings. I thought about re-recording the recorder part, but decided to keep it due to the emotion that was present on that first go at it, and just fix the few rough spots. The track sounds a fair bit more polished now. Aaaand I uploaded another tweaked mix a few days later because that one was awful. Sigh
