the Seraphim
they would not let her in
when it was her time to die

she tried up from the ground
but could not make a sound
she damn well forgot how to fly

the Seraphim
they said let it begin
they couldn’t stand to see her cry

we’ve been waiting so long
but your wings just aren’t strong
not strong enough to grace the sky

if anything could be salvaged
if something can be spared
cut that from my being
and take me to the air

please by all means
just don’t leave me down here
