silent thoughts and long lost friends

just and wise and kind and true
from earth to sky, from me to you

and tomorrow when you’re gone
I’ll remember all along
that you’re closer to me now
than when you went away
for the first time
even though the sun will shine
and you are great and I am fine

it’s not too far for me to say
