Demonstration of Frequency Modulation (FM) synthesis on the Prophet 12.

Starts with oscillators 1 (carrier) and 2 (modulator), both set to sine waves at C3. Holding down C, I increase the frequency of the modulator all the way to maximum (C10).

Next, i set both oscillators to sawtooth waves. This time, I start by turning the modulator to the lowest possible pitch, before going all the way up to the highest.

Then, I set both to the “Tines” wave shape and do the same thing.

Finally, I set both oscillators to sweep through various waves and do the same thing.
