i normally hate 'country' music, but not because it's country...i had a stepdad who spent a lot of time recording, and i saw firsthand just how contrived most of the so-called artists are. this song uses a lot of country conventions...but it never sounds contrived. maybe it's because your voice sounds classically country enough to make the songs seem natural. whatever the case is, i could spend a lot of time analyzing why i like this stuff.
