Thanks, Steve! It's been really therapeutic to play around with these Sea Change songs and it's cool you're enjoying listening to that catharsis (not everyone would be so keen on listening to the more emotional stuff, so I appreciate you taking the time to listen!)
You me and infinity
Time slows down and then we see
Hands of God and synecdoche
No ground
Rendezvous and longing stares
Apocalyptic, no more pairs
Epileptic swirling flares
Deconstruct us
Doctors of divinity
Lives within you and me…
You me and infinity
Time slows down and then we see
Hands of God and synecdoche
No ground
Rendezvous and longing stares
Apocalyptic, no more pairs
Epileptic swirling flares
Deconstruct us

Lives within you and me…
Thanks for listening to my Beck covers, Steve! I've been listening to a lot of his Sea Change album lately and I've set up a goal of learning the whole album. I've been pretty busy lately and so recording them has been a slower process than I had initially hoped, but I'm glad you have enjoyed the few songs I've posted so far! Thanks, as always, for your encouraging words!
Thanks for the kind words, Steve! These last three songs ("Golden Age," "Memory Lame," and "Therefore I Am") are all different kinds of songs for me and I wasn't sure how they'd be received, so I'm glad you liked them!
@sistersavage Thanks so much! I was kind of going for the sort of song you might listen to on your headphones in the dark -- so I'm glad it was received that way.
Thanks for the kind feedback, Steve! I enjoyed playing around with lyrics to this one to suit the sentiments that were floating around in my head at the time, so I'm glad that it turned out suiting me 'cause that is what I was going for!
10 years ago (April 3rd, 2008) I joined alonetone. Here is a rerecorded version of the first song I ever posted to alonetone. The song is "Girl is On My Mind" by The Black Keys
My aunt gifted me a 12 string guitar for Christmas and so I had fun trying it out for this song; I'm glad it turned out okay. As always, thanks for listening and for the encouraging words, Steve!
I'm glad to hear that what I recorded turned out sounding authentic. That "heart on my sleeve" vibe was definitely what I was going for. Thanks for the kind words, Steve!
Thanks for listening and for the support, Steve! The simultaneous fingerpicking and singing was hard to get down perfectly, so I'm glad it turned out okay.
Took me about a decade of singing alone in my bedroom before I was brave enough to record anything! I'm glad it sometimes sounds good enough to listen to. Thanks for your kind feedback, Steve!
The reverb I get in my apt definitely added a nice flavor to this song. I've been playing this tune in one form or another for at least 15 years, so I thought it'd be cool to record it in the new place to see how it sounds in novel surroundings. As always, thanks for the support and kind feedback, Steve!
Intro sampled from Buckethead's "First Master." Music by DoktorDoktor. Lyrics by Lao Tzu & Tom Browning
Approach it and there is no beginning
Follow it and there is no ending
You can't know it but you can be it
Just realize and stay…
Rad stuff, Steve! It sounds like you're exploring new and exciting territories with your last few songs. Looking forward to hearing what comes next. :)
Comments on Tom's stuff
it's happening, isn't it? This is like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Great
Thanks for listening so closely, Steve! I was definitely going for something more emotional here, so it's cool that you caught that.
Beautiful song, and you put real feeling into it. Well done Tom!

A bittersweet and emotional song, and you express it with real feeling Tom. Very nice.
Thanks @theProods! This was a fun collab with Dokdoktor, so I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Now you're cooking!

Like the singing. Beck's songs are a bit melancholic. You perform this very well. Good job!
Nice version Tom. Tone of it sounds great. Suits your style.

Lovely vocals. Well performed as usual Tom. I'm sure most of us can relate to this subject.
Another song, not sure who Jim is criticising again. Clever lyrics, and I think you deliver them simply and yet effectively. Good work!
Nice version Tom. Don't know the song or whether it's literally about another person, or religion, or what? It's sad, but I like it.

Smashed it. Great late night feel.
Thanks for the kind feedback, Steve! This one was a bit of challenge as the chords are a bit obscure, but it was a fun one to record nonetheless.
Moody and deep, enjoy the guitar tone and your expressive vocals Tom.

@fudgetusk Thanks for the kind feedback; I've really enjoyed my ten years here and I'm hoping for at least ten more!
Thanks, Steve! Atmosphere and emotion are definitely what I'm going for here!
I enjoyed what you did here, Steve! I can imagine this being the soundtrack to a remixed Road Runner cartoon.

Digging this one, Steve! The melodies, chords, and drums blend nicely with each other. Super cool closing solo too!

Sounds like you've stumbled onto a vibe that would fit right in on the new Blade Runner movie's soundtrack; great work here, Steve!
