Thanks, as always, for the encouragement, Steve! I thought about making this song longer, but I decided to take a page out of one of your books (cuz you are versatile enough to have many metaphorical books) by going with something short, sweet, and straight to the point. That said, next time I suspect I'll do something longer.
I had a fun time recording it, so I’m glad you enjoyed it, Steve! And you should def try a Chili Peppers-esque song when you get the time. I’d be very interested to hear your take on a song in that style.
Interesting cover. I was thinking of doing a Chili Peppers style number. This is good, just you and the guitar. It sounds really cool. Not an easy song. Well done Tom!
Indeed this song was surprisingly challenging to sing and play because that famous riff requires a bit of a stretch and on top of that I tended to play it too fast (a common problem I have). But I'm glad it turned out okay even though it was something I probably recorded a little too hastily. All that said, many thanks for listening to my stuff, Steve!
@TheProods Even though I sometimes like experimenting with different sounds, I inevitably come back to the stripped down sound. Thanks for encouragement!
You are neither scourge nor savior. You are a point on the continuum. What you eat, you are. You are food. And how sacred is that? Little sister to Second Nature.

This sacred body
doesn’t she make you…
They say "you are what you eat." I find this to be true because as soon as I bought some ready-to-eat apricots, I was ready to eat apricots. My favourite thing about these ready-to-eat apricots is that they were in a resealable bag, because sometimes you aren't ready-to-eat apricots enough. Maybe next time you'll buy some ready-to-eat apricots.
Took me a "long long time" to discover this song, but I'm so glad I was finally able to thanks to the amazing third episode of "The Last of Us." Thank you for the kind words, Colleen!
I'm so happy to learn that you plan to take a look at the originals, c}{imps! I'm just here trying to honor my favorite songs and it's a true compliment if I can do well enough to make someone want to hear the "real" version. (-:
I had a lot of fun listening to this one. The subtle use of sitar and the chugging rhythm guitar are two cool things (of many) that jump out at me. Nice work, Steve! :)
10 years ago (April 3rd, 2008) I joined alonetone. Here is a rerecorded version of the first song I ever posted to alonetone. The song is "Girl is On My Mind" by The Black Keys
Comments on Tom's stuff
This is a new one for me. Nice melody, played and sung very well as usual.
Stretching out those vocal chords again Tom. Very good!
Yes to ES always
Thanks @GregConnor!

Really nice. I wish it was longer. Lovely song Tom!
Very Pretty
Glad you loved it, Steve! I about strained my vocal chords singing it, but it was definitely worth it to do justice to such a classic.
Thanks, Proods! I actually tried to play and sing this one in a more understated way so I'm glad it still turned out good.
A Beatles cover! Love it Tom. Singing is great. I think you've done it justice buddy!
This is a great pitch for that amazing voice! So good
Thanks, Steve! And I'm looking forward to hearing more of your stuff -- long or short, it's always fun and interesting.
This is good. I don't know the song, but I like your version.
Like the melody here Tom. Nice job!

More good music, gotta let the voice fly without the effects sometime...great pipes!
Good effort! This isn't an easy song, but the tone of it sounds just right.

I like all four of your songs! The layered vocals on this one are particularly cool. :)
A nice "pick me up" in these uncertain times! The bongos and other percussive sounds are nicely juxtaposed with the simulated jet sounds. Cool stuff!
Thanks for the encouraging words, Tess! Authenticity is definitely what I'm going for with these songs.
@SisterSavage: As always, thank you for listening and thank you for your kind words, Tess!
Inspiring!

Thanks, Steve! It was fun trying to make the two guitars work and I'm glad the enjoyment extended beyond just me.
@theproods I'm very glad to hear that you're out there supporting some of the artists who inspired me so much!
Love this one; it’s great seeing you back on alonetone! :)
Glad you enjoyed it, Steve! I had some fun with this one. ;)
...you pretty much just described my life @fudetusk
Thanks @fudgetusk! By the way, that gum you like is going to come back in style.
@fudgetusk: Thanks for the kind words!
@fudgetusk Thanks for the kind feedback; I've really enjoyed my ten years here and I'm hoping for at least ten more!
Thanks, Steve! Atmosphere and emotion are definitely what I'm going for here!
