Project 3: The Starbuck Song

Right. So, faced with the task of creating my first ever sample based beat, I decided to tip my hat to the sheer awesome that is the character Kara “Starbuck” Thrace from Battlestar Galactica.

All drum patterns were created by myself in Reason, some other sounds were sampled from both techno artists and the BSG soundtrack; sound clips of Starbuck were of course ripped off the BSG DVDs. Everything was edited together in the end using ProTools.

I have more I want to do with this - possibly compose and add some bass lines to match the drum loops, mix in more melodies and add in an additional “movement” of Starbuck clips. Perhaps later. But for now - enjoy!
