I Traced My Name
Dandy From Home
I traced my name out in the grime
With my finger like a knife
Waiting in the parking lot
For somebody I forgot
Watching the dust settle back in place
I’m settled in going my own pace
Burn through time till it’s getting late
I do the same thing every day
I’d feel much better if I didn’t sleep
If I didn’t need so much time to eat
If I had a hundred years to figure my out
I’d still be stuck in my self-doubt
So the world can keep on rolling without me
I’ll just stay here with my own company
I traced my name out in the grime
With my finger like a knife
Waiting in the parking lot
For somebody I forgot
Waiting in the parking lot
For somebody I forgot
I probably should lie so much to myself
I got enough bad habits bringing me down
I keep mixing up depression
With contentment
I’m not okay with my life
I’m so sick of doing nothing
That gives me meaning
Or makes me happy
So I put my shoes on
Go outside
Played some music I used to lke
Burnt my skin off from the sun
I hadn’t seen it in so long
Then I saw a couple crows chilling in the dirt
Near the lot where I used to work
So I laid myself down a couple feet away
Then they pulled me apart like broken hay
So the world can keep on rolling without me
I’ll just stay here with my own company
I traced my name out in the grime
With my finger like a knife
Waiting in the parking lot
For somebody I forgot
Waiting in the parking lot
For somebody I forgot
