Homeless

“Homeless”
Lyrics and Music by Daniel Parkhill
As I walk around downtown, and I see city drown around me,
I wonder how this happens to someone like you and me.
This city has a way of dragging you down, and it’s victims are many.
And I wonder if today is the day my dream dies.
And I wonder if it will snow again today.
The wind picks up and it gets cold again.
And as we all go out to buy our daily needs,
We are the homeless.
We are the homeless.
This city has a way of drowning your sound,
So you can no longer state your desires
And your love for the hunt dies out.
And I wonder if somewhere some starving kid cries.
And I wonder if I should move back home someday.
It’s four o’clock PM and I wake again.
And in my mind I’m no better than a thief.
And I am the homeless.
I am the homeless.
And soon my dream will die.
Tuning: AAEEEE
ageshero: Done and done! I would be honored if you do decide to cover it. :)
A very touching piece - beautifully presented.
