‘Story of the Blues’ is a song written by Gary Moore, that incredible Irish singer-guitarist who excelled at slow blues… and, indeed, this slow blues progression in a minor key – with its archetypal harmonic progression Am → Am(maj7) → Am7 → Am6 – appears in several magnificent tracks, sometimes as it is, sometimes transposed or slightly modified.
