Ascension
D - F - D - G
Weird note riff on a guitar. Shouldn’t work. But hey, never stopped me before l-)
Thanks for the feedback :-) as you can tell I'm still learning this digital recording lark :-) will have a look at this Much appreciated Adam
Musically this is freaking awesome, but personally, I'd tone down the compression a little bit.
I think this is D Dorian or D minor no? Cool guitar either way :) ~Geas
From the root D, as the picked notes are D, F, G and B.... Sometimes interesting stuff occurs when you just plug in some numbers. For example, I sometimes play around with what I call the Rush Scale where the scale goes Tone - Semi - Semi - Tone - Semi - Semi - Tone So you get from C C - D - D# - E - F# - G - Ab - Bb Why Rush - well (Tone - semi - semi - tone = 2112) ;-)
that's damned interesting...thinking about riffs mathematically. Makes sense. As for the last part. I'm a bit rusty in that department lately too. root, minor third, fourth, and sixth for what? and what do u mean ON DFGB?
Well for a start I cocked up in the description ;-) the clean part is basically 0 5 3 0 0 0 Picked on the A,D,G,B strings. Simple motif, and one thats been bugging me for a while. So its basically on D,F,G,B.... I sometimes tend to think mathematically about riffs and occasionally something unusual comes out of it... Whats that root, minor third, fourth, sixth? My theory knowledge isn't awesome, I'm ashamed to say ;-)
pretty tight song. What do u mean about the guitar riff?
Yeah, I was in an odd mood. I'm trying to back to the 'less is more' mentality but its hard going...!
well done , ROCKS.
