This song contains the body of the first song I ever wrote. A poem sent to me while I was away to school in Idaho in 1959 by Carolyn Opitz that I sat at an old pump organ and sang a thousand times when I was a junior in high school.
YOU CAN’T GO BACK in C
I’ll never want to let you go
although we’re far apart
My love will linger on I know
and live within my heart
So, Darling, while so far away
don’t forget to send
All the love you once did say
for my heart to mend
Some day you must return to me
and start anew with dreams
For only then, how right we’ll see
were all our tender schemes…
You can’t go back…

Wow! Starts of so light and carefree. Then pow to rock lead guitar breaks the tranquility. Contrast. Js Bchard.
