And there’s nothing much finer Than an old brown recliner Rocking on the porch for my pain Still here, if you still have my email, send me yours. David
This song is a perfect companion to the other. Both are beautiful unto themselves, but together they compliment and fulfill each other... and together they become even more beautiful. Bravo Bravo
Jimmy, this song represents well, why I love you and yours. Thank you, so much, for sharing your life. This song is a masterpiece. I know it was birthed from deep shared pain. It is beautiful.
Wow, nicely poetic. Cool how your vocals and simple guitar work keep the lyrics centered for the listener.
If names really meant anything, my name would be James Michael Singer. Or maybe James Michael “Show and Tell.” I was a sophomore in high school when Buddy Holly died. He and the Everly Brothers were the first music on the radio that sang My Music. THEN, The Kingston Trio sang Tom Dooley and I headed off to college with my banjo and it was hootenanny time. THEN, Dylan sang BLOWING IN THE WING and turned all of us folk singers into song writers. 1,000 songs later I’m on the verge of eighty years on this earth and music has been the wind I have ridden and the thread that has held it all together for me. Funny, I end up back in Oklahoma. It was off to college from the San Joaquin Valley of California to Oklahoma City in 1961 where I spent 2 years mostly singing and playing in trios and duos if I remember right. School never interfered with the music. Meanwhile 25 years a stage hand on everything from Hank Jr. to Pink Floyd but never interfering with my own concerts and movies and raising a tote bag of kids. You’ll just have to come out Friday night if you want to know more… Talk to me…pyropool@earthlink.net https://www.facebook.com/jamesmichael.taylor.39
